I should've known this was coming.
Once again, I made plans to visit with someone (4 hour drive) with their intent to call me the night before to make the final arrangements (when, where, etc.).
Of course that call never happened, and there hasn't been a call today.
Why do people do this? I would've been disappointed had they said "Gee, I'd like to get together while I'm in town, but I don't think I'll have enough free time." but I would've understood and that would've been that.
Instead I clear out time on my schedule, arrange to get the car, etc. and now I'm socially "on hold" waiting to see what - if anything - is going to come of this, at least for a few hours.
